User involvement
Workpackage 1
This workpackage assured user involvement throughout the project.
ACE, the leader of the workpackage, is experienced in project leadership as well as in software technology. ACE's main activity focuses on end user involvement.
Activities
- Identification of User Requirements
The user requirements were the basis for the rest
of the project. Therefore, the user requirements had to be identified at the start of the project (in 2001). To gather information, the partners used questionnaires for facilitators and manufacturers, and a "mind mapping" technique for end users.
The outcome of these activities are written in the User Requirements Document.
- Simulation
A prototype of the web browser has been developed to do a simulation study to validate the feasibility of the envisaged developments.
- Case Studies
Single case studies involved a selected group of users in a few countries (the UK, Holland and Sweden). They included users with severe fine motor impairments, non-speaking AAC users, dysphasic AAC users and users with congenital or acquired learning difficulties.
The case studies provided solid qualitative data and iterative feedback to the technical team.
- Final Evaluation
The final evaluation of the project results and market preparation activities have taken place via user workshops.
